Users Login, Register and Forgot Email Settings

Login

To change the login settings, go to the login tab in Settings/Users.

Multi Device Login

By selecting On, users can login on multiple devices. If you set it to Off, users can only login on one device at a time.

IP Sensitive

User login token can be IP sensitive. Means user can only stay login when the IP is not changed. Turning this setting On can increase security but users will be logged out every time they change the IP. If you set it to Off, users will stay logged-in after changing the IP.

Registration Email

When users registering in your website, you can send them a registration email. Go to the Settings/Users. on the Register tab you can set Email to one of these:
Off: Do not send registration email. User can login after the registration.
On: Just send the registration email.
On: Activation: Send activation link email. User needs to activate the registration to complete the registration process.

Registration Email Content

You can create your own registration content when your website send email to the users. You can set default values and use it for all languages or use specific content for a language.
Write your email in the Email: From, the email title in Email: Title and email content in Email: Content. You can use these strings inside email content. They will be replaced by actual values:
[j_user]: Selected username
[j_userfirstname]: User first name1
[j_userlastname]: User last name1
[j_usernickname]: User nick name1
[j_displayname]: User display name1
[j_useremail]: User email
[j_url]: login page (on activation mode the URL have activation parameters in it).
[j_expiretime]: Integer of activation link expire time in hours (only on activation mode).
The login page can be set in specific language on Settings/Users, register tab. The URL will point to the website index page if you don't set that.
Activation link will be expired in 24 hours by default settings. To change that, go to the conf.php file and change j_user_activation_time value.

Registering Language

When a user register for the first time, core needs to set a language for that user. That language can be used inside back-end or front-end.
You can mark users as registered user for current language or all languages.
Go to the Settings/Users. on the Register tab you can select language:
Current: User can only use the account inside the registered language and can not login into his/her account in other languages (front-end).
All: user can login into his account in all languages.

Forgot Email

When a user request a new password, forgot email will be sent but you need to configure some settings before using this feature.
Go to the Settings/Users. on the Forgot Password tab you can write your own email content. Email from, title and content are the same as Register tab but [j_url] will be replaced by reset password page URL (The page that user can change the password. You should have a proper widget in that page).
Also [j_expiretime] will be replaced by actual value of the URL expire time (in Hours:Minutes format).
The forgot page should be set in specific language here. Forgot email doesn't work if you leave that empty.

Multi Device Forgot Token

When you send a forgot email to a user, it has a link in it. If you want that link only works inside the device that user requested the forgot email, go to the Settings/Users. on the Forgot Password tab you can set Multi Device Forgot Token to Off. If you set it to the On, the forgot link works on all devices.
